A U.S. Government-led partnership, Power Africa convenes the collective resources of the private sector, international development organizations, and governments from around the world to increase energy access and to end energy poverty in sub-Saharan Africa.
Power Africa's goal is to advance inclusive, low-carbon economic growth that improves lives and powers health, education, and prosperity by adding:
new electricity connections
14,000 MW financially closed
of new electricity turning lights on across the continent
of online power projects use renewable energy
U.S.-Africa Clean Tech Energy Network (CTEN)
The CTEN connects U.S. and African cleantech energy companies to market opportunities where project-ready technology can increase access to reliable electricity. Guided by the goal to end energy poverty in sub-Saharan Africa, CTEN will introduce U.S. cleantech energy firms to specific deal opportunities in African markets and promote direct investment in African cleantech enterprises. Thus, CTEN will activate and facilitate a two-way ecosystem of cleantech energy companies, business associations, buyers, partners, investors, entrepreneurs, innovation labs, and government stakeholders to unlock innovation and bankable deals.
