The USAID Linkages for Small and Medium Enterprises (LinkSME) project is supporting the Office of the Government (OOG) to promote the administration of public services on the National Public Service Portal, a single sign-on portal for all public services. To enhance the portal’s user experience, the project has helped create a toolkit for reviewing and standardizing administrative procedures. USAID LinkSME also helps standardize online administrative procedures that are technically complex, including those related to economic recovery from the impacts of COVID-19, tax and fee payments, land change registration, construction planning information, and environmental protection plan certification. This support is bearing fruit. In the last nine months, the National Public Service Portal received more than 600,000 applications for the online handling of administrative procedures. For instance, employers and employees impacted by work stoppages due to COVID-19 have been able to access pandemic relief funds via the portal, reducing the time and cost to complete the required administrative procedures.

Through this support, USAID is helping improve Vietnam’s digital public service delivery, which will contribute to assist the country’s administrative reforms, reducing red-tape and the burden to citizens and businesses.
