Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is an approach to investing and business that recognizes environmental, social, and governance issues into account. As a follow-up to the launch of a nationwide ESG competition held by USAID and the Vietnamese government in November 2022, the top 10 finalists of the participated in a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City to share their business experience and refine their proposals for the final round of the competition to be held in August, when three of these businesses will be awarded up to $85,000 worth of technical assistance to pilot, implement, and scale up their proposals.
Small businesses account for 97% of enterprises in Vietnam and USAID provides technical assistance in ESG to improve their competitiveness and drive sustainable growth in Vietnam.
