During the last week of March, in Binh Dinh and Quang Nam provinces, USAID’s Hold My Hand project collaborated with Catholic Relief Services to improve the quality for home-based carers of persons with significant disabilities and to promote the independent living. The project organized workshops where 162 persons with disabilities, as well as family caregivers, home-based carers, and local health care workers, attended training classes to learn the skills for independent living assessment, and the specific actions they can take to improve it.

So what? Through USAID’s assistance, Vietnam continues to improve support to persons with disabilities and their caregivers both in physical and mental health.
