Second Edition of Lesotho Annual Exporter Awards Celebrates Outstanding Export Performance

Today, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the United States Embassy Keisha Toms-Boutaleb joined by the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry Dr. Francis Tlhopheho Sefali, the Interim CEO of the Lesotho National Development Cooperation (LNDC) Molise Ramaili, and the Managing Director of Lesotho PostBank Molefi Leqhaoe for the Second Annual Lesotho Annual Exporter Awards Ceremony. The Annual Exporter Awards is a collaboration between the United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), LNDC, and Lesotho PostBank to recognize and reward export performance and innovation by Lesotho export firms. 

USAID Southern Africa Mission Director visits Lesotho

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Southern Africa  Mission Director Mr. Andrew “Andy” Karas arrived in Lesotho for his first official visit to the  Mountain Kingdom. Mr. Karas met with members of the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho and USAID Lesotho’s partners to observe progress of the U.S. Government’s development partnership with Lesotho, which works to ensure a brighter future for the  nation’s citizens.  

Second Edition of Eswatini Annual Exporter Awards Celebrates Outstanding Export Performance

Today, U.S. Ambassador H.E. Jeanne M. Maloney joined Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Honorable Mr. Manqoba Khumalo and the CEOs of the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and Business Eswatini (BE), Mr. Sibani Mngomezulu and Mr. Nathi Dlamini, respectively, celebrated the continuing achievement of Eswatini exporters. This was at the second edition of the Annual Exporter Awards, a collaboration between the United States Government, through the United States Agency for International Development, and EIPA and BE, to recognize and reward top performing Eswatini export firms. 

The U.S. Government Announces New Private Sector Partnerships to Strengthen Agricultural Trade and Investment Across Southern Africa

The U.S. Government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has partnered with four Southern Africa private sector firms to increase trade and investment across the region.

United States Donates 124,000 Doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to Namibia

At an event hosted at the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation today, the U.S. Embassy announced the donation by the United States government of 124,000 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s global efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.  The vaccines arrived on October 22 following the first consignment of 100,620 doses that arrived on September 24, 2021.  To date, the U.S. government has donated 224,620 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine to Namibia.

The CIPLA Foundation Contributes to the Vaccine Rollout Through Partnership

To help ramp up the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out in South Africa, especially during the third wave, the Cipla Foundation has built innovative, movable vaccination stations. These vaccination stations, co-funded by various partners, will be deployed into various local communities to ensure equitable and convenient access to the vaccine. The Cipla Foundation is known for bringing primary healthcare into the hearts of communities to ensure a dignified and convenient experience for patients.

USAID Donates Electronic High-Tech Equipment to Support Namibia’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program

The U.S. government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) donated 176 tablet and 53 laptop computers, as well as 250 remote temperature monitoring devices and 2,000 terabytes in hard-drive capacity to Namibia’s Ministry of Health and Social Services to support the country’s COVID-19 vaccine roll-out. The electronic equipment will be used for data entry at vaccination sites and for monitoring purposes.
