On September 7-8, 2023, Administrator Samantha Power will travel to Tallinn, Estonia, to jointly lead the U.S. delegation to the 2023 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit alongside GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan. Other members of the U.S. delegation will include senior representatives from the White House, Department of State, General Services Administration, and USAID.
The United States is a founding member of OGP, which was formally launched in 2011. Today, OGP includes 75 countries and 104 local governments – representing more than two billion people – and thousands of civil society organizations. The 2023 OGP Global Summit will bring together government leaders and members of civil society from around the world to focus on open government in the digital age, the potential of technology to make governance and policy-making more transparent and accountable, and the preservation of democracy.
