The below is attributable to Spokesperson Rebecca Chalif:‎

Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with leaders in the Ukrainian-American community to underscore the United States’ commitment to the Ukrainian people and to share information about the range of contingency planning USAID and the U.S. government are undertaking to prepare for a potential humanitarian response in the event of a further Russian invasion of Ukraine. In separate phone calls, Administrator Power spoke with leadership of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), which represents millions of Ukrainian-Americans through local grassroots chapters throughout the United States; and Archbishop Daniel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, and Archbishop Borys Gudziak of the Ukrainian Catholic Church Archeparchy of Philadelphia.

During these conversations, the Administrator shared how the U.S. would respond across a range of possible humanitarian scenarios in Ukraine, and exchanged ideas for how the Ukrainian-American community can support international efforts to assist the people of Ukraine. The Administrator committed to ongoing engagement with the Ukrainian-American community to share information and work together if Russia further invades Ukraine.
