Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Development and Africa Andrew Mitchell. Administrator Power and Minister Mitchell discussed U.S. and UK efforts to address escalating humanitarian needs in Gaza, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Administrator Power and Minister Mitchell underscored the importance of ensuring that food aid and other humanitarian assistance is able to urgently reach civilians. Administrator Power and Minister Mitchell also discussed international efforts to deploy a Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission for Haiti, and Administrator Power highlighted strong U.S. support for the MSS and the people of Haiti.
