JAKARTA – Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), leading cloud services provider Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Elitery, an IT managed services provider, announced the launch of Acceleration of Indonesia’s Transformation to a Digital Economy by Improving Digital Talent (TALENTA), a new partnership to strengthen Indonesia’s digital ecosystem. This program aims to produce 60,000 job-ready graduates from 20 universities, as well as 100 digital startups.
“The United States is pleased to work with Amazon Web Services and Elitery to strengthen Indonesia’s digital workforce,” said USAID Indonesia Mission Director Jeff Cohen. “These important skills will help Indonesian workers and small and medium businesses to thrive in the growing digital marketplace.”
Indonesia will need a sharp increase in digital workers between 2015 and 2030. TALENTA will work with universities to develop Indonesia’s cloud computing technology workforce by enhancing the digital skills of students, lecturers, and universities. The program will also build a Cloud Landing Zone for “digital heroes”, where AWS can help startups and small and medium enterprises by providing innovation challenges, support, and AWS Cloud development.
Mohammad Ghozie Indra Dalel, Country Manager, Worldwide Public Sector, Indonesia, AWS, said, “We are delighted to work with USAID and AWS Partner, Elitery, to support the TALENTA program. In Indonesia, AWS has made a commitment to empower hundreds of thousands of Indonesians from all backgrounds with cloud proficiency by 2025, and more than 400,000 Indonesians have been trained to date. The TALENTA program will further reinforce our long-term commitment to help drive innovation and grow Indonesia’s digital economy.”
Kresna Adiprawira, the CEO of Elitery said, “We are fully committed to supporting the Indonesian government’s efforts to develop a pool of skilled and reliable human resources in the field of digital technology, especially in Cloud technology. We are dedicated to providing our expertise and resources towards the growth of the Cloud industry in Indonesia, and to contribute to the creation of a bright future for the country’s tech industry.”
This partnership will strengthen Indonesia’s economy by preparing graduates and small and medium businesses for the increasingly digital marketplace of the future.
