September 9, 2021, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) celebrates the successful completion of its four-year USAID Enriching Youth for Tomorrow Program implemented by JA Worldwide, one of the oldest and largest youth-serving NGOs in the world. The activity improved the capacity of Turkmenistani youth to contribute to the local economy and their communities.

On September 3, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a new activity for youth development in Turkmenistan. The five-year, USAID Youth Development activity, will be implemented by the QED Group and will leverage past and current USAID interventions to connect Turkmenstani youth with employment opportunities and create sustainable linkages between the youth and the labor market.

Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the winners of a Startup Ecosystem Program 2021 competition, hosted jointly by the USAID Enriching Youth for Tomorrow activity, the USAID Future Growth Initiative, and the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan.

Today, the USAID-funded Social Innovation in Central Asia program, implemented by the Eurasia Foundation, launched the second Central Asia Youth Leadership Academy (CAYLA) including a cohort of 179 young leaders from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan participating in an online opening ceremony.

Today, Tetra Tech ES, Inc., implementer of the USAID Power Central Asia activity, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Samruk-Energy, Kazakhstan’s largest diversified energy holding company. Under the MOU, the USAID Power Central Asia activity will help Samruk-Energy develop a low carbon strategy with the overall aim to reduce their carbon footprint by 2060, in parallel with Kazakhstan’s plans to reach carbon neutrality by the same year as part of the nation’s updated national climate plan.

Today, the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted a Women’s Summit entitled, ‘The Power of Women: Growth Trends of Post-Pandemic and Beyond’ for women leaders, entrepreneurs, women-owned small-and-medium-sized enterprises, activists, influencers, bloggers, women-led business associations, and relevant non-government organizations.
Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded regional Social Innovation in Central Asia program implemented by Eurasia Foundation, together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Turkmenistan hosted a youth forum dedicated to ‘World Day against Trafficking in Persons’ with participation from 60 young leaders from different regions of Turkmenistan, and representatives from the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the State Migration Services, public organizations, and international agencies.
Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, in a video address a group of Kazakhstani youth spoke to their peers across the country to raise awareness about human trafficking.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Safe Migration in Central Asia program, implemented by Winrock International, and its partners from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan have launched a digital campaign to raise public awareness about human trafficking and measures to identify and avoid being trafficked. The campaign will conclude on July 30, World Day against Trafficking in Persons.
