Countries and Missions are seeking SRH research that has local ownership and relevancy to context and programmatic needs in order to drive adoption, utilization, and impact of research results. We propose awarding two cooperative agreements to local research institutes, one in West Africa and one in East Africa, focusing on locally-driven, contextual research questions that can also feed into answering global research questions.

BHA Ethiopia Rapid Response Mechanism- A mechanism to facilitate time-bound emergency humanitarian assistance in the wake of an acute shock in any region of Ethiopia.

The purpose of PSA III is to provide high quality acquisition & assistance (A&A)-related services to the Bureau for Global Health (GH); the Office of Acquisition & Assistance (GH); and USAID Missions to enable the Agency to achieve global health's three strategic priorities: preventing child and maternal deaths; controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic; and combating infectious diseases.

The contract will be part of the Next Generation Global Health Supply Chain Suite of Programs (NextGen). The contractor will provide warehousing and transportation for USAID-funded health commodities after their initial delivery to procurement-defined destinations, in a manner that exemplifies commercial logistics best practices, promotes local logistics market health and, through the development of a relevant body of knowledge, accelerates host-government engagement with the private sector while improving performance, accountability and cost. Resilience Food Security Activities (RFSAs) work to improve and sustain the food security of extremely poor and socially marginalized populations. The RFSA in Somalia will work at the individual, household, and community levels using the Graduation Approach to address the underlying causes of food insecurity in the face of shocks and stresses. The Somalia RFSA will target urban and peri-urban internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the surrounding host communities in Mogadishu, Afgoye, Jowhar, Baidoa, Hudur, or Kismayo. BHA anticipates up to two awards and funding will include Community Development Funds (CDF) and Title II, Section 202(e).

Program Officer

In support of the USAID Climate Strategy, USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance's Climate Smart Disaster Ready APS seeks to implement innovative and applicable adaptation solutions in communities at greatest risk to climate related disasters, in current and foreseeable humanitarian settings. The APS will invest in locally-led solutions through enhanced local partnerships, amplify climate thought leadership and the knowledge base with innovative solutions from change agents serving communities at greatest risk, and scale up proven climate-risk reduction actions for enhanced adaptation of communities with greatest vulnerability.
