Working to Stop Malnutrition Around the World
Right now malnutrition is stalking millions of people around the world, particularly in Gaza, Haiti, and Sudan. This month, USAID committed an additional $200 million in response. This funding will help us maximize procurement and distribution of RUFT, which stands for Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food, as well as other products that treat acute malnutrition. Administrator Samantha Power made the announcement earlier this month at the Fitzgerald, Ga.-based MANA Nutrition Factory where RUFT is produced. “There is a lot of famine pending in the world,” she explained. “This effort, this vision, meets the moment. And it could not be more timely, more necessary, or more important.”
