This event coincided with the commemoration of Women’s Day (August 9) in South Africa. More than 70 alumni, partners and special guests attended to focus on the theme “Finding the Courage to speak up.” A panel of experts, including Dr. Tebogo Deo (a Fertility Specialist with the Genesis Reproductive Centre), Ms. Bongi Ngoma (Head of Audit at Auditor General South Africa), Ms. Asa Smouse (a YALI Alumni and the Author of One-of-a-kind: survival guide for invisible scars), Ms. Olwethu Zwane (Founder of Royal House of Art) and Ms. Mpolokeng Mudau (a YALI Alumni who moderated the discussion) had the opportunity to exhibit their work during a networking event where delegates continued the conversation and engaged with alumni and their projects.
