The YALI alumni network in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) partnered with the YALI RLC in Dakar to organize a training session on Community Development Project Management.

From September 5 to 7, 2023, 100 youth from three of the country’s provinces (Kinshasa, Équateur and Tshopo) participated in the three-day training. The training targeted people living with disabilities, young mothers, and young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are volunteers, civil society organizers, entrepreneurs and students. The training aimed to build participants’ capacity to design, implement and manage community development projects. Jonathan Shuka, project management specialist and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the YALI Alumni DRC Network delivered the training. The YALI Leadership Training works with young Africa leaders every year to provide them the tools needed to help address social issues in the community, the countries and the continent.

At the end of the training, participants received certificates in recognition of their attendance and commitment to community building.
