There are 4,600 craft villages across Vietnam, the majority of which do not have centralized wastewater treatment systems or industrial solid waste collection points. On June 29, USAID launched two initiatives to address the pollution generated by these villages.
These initiatives will support collective efforts that bring together government, business, and communities to treat household waste and agricultural by-products, and reduce open burning of waste and soil pollution at metal-working craft villages.
