In June, USAID partnered with Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment's National Innovation Center to launch two initiatives, the Digital Workforce Website and the New Opportunities program. The Digital Workforce Website provides comprehensive data on salaries, markets, careers, and digital training to the public while the New Opportunities program provides subsidized digital reskilling opportunities to Vietnamese manufacturing workers, many of whom lost their jobs due to the negative economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that they can rejoin the labor market and find good paying jobs.
Both initiatives will support Vietnam to develop a skilled digital workforce to meet the demands of the rapidly growing digital economy.
