After only eight months of implementation, USAID’s Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution project successfully mobilized 11 schools and over 14,500 students to reduce plastic waste in Cam Le district, Danang. The schools started environmental education in classes, as well as programs to sort waste and reduce single-use plastic products.
This represents concrete results in response to a 2021 action plan from the Danang People's Committee to reduce single-use plastics, strengthen the waste management system, and raise people's awareness of the threat to the ocean of plastic waste.
