USAID Provides Support to Persons With Disabilities Who Are Survivors of Gender-Based Violence

On January 30, USAID handed over two Sunrise Houses to the Departments of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs in Thua Thien - Hue and Quang Tri provinces. These houses provide reliable, safe, and accessible shelter and rehabilitation, and reintegration services for women and girls with disabilities who are survivors of gender-based violence.

Sunrise Houses contribute to achieving the targets of Vietnam’s national strategy for gender equality 2021-2030 and fulfilling Vietnam’s commitment under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to reduce gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities.
