Reproductive health is not a topic of open discussion within the disabled community in Vietnam due to social and cultural norms. Between July 18-21, in Dien Ban and Nui Thanh districts of Quang Nam province, USAID’s INCLUSION-I activity provided training courses on reproductive health and self-care for 49 persons with significant disabilities and their family members/care-givers to improve their understanding and practice on reproductive health and self-care, from maintaining personal hygiene to identification and prevention of sexual abuse and violence.

Persons with disabilities and their caregivers who are equipped with basic knowledge and skills on personal health issues will be able to take better care of themselves and feel more confident in exercising their rights to health, safety, and well-being.
