Sepideh Keyvanshad is the Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator / Acting Chief Human Capital Officer in the Office of Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM).  A career development professional, Ms. Keyvanshad has worked within the U.S. Government in a variety of roles, including the Department of State and the National Security Council, and has been serving as a USAID Foreign Service Officer since 2000.

Ms. Keyvanshad was most recently Mission Director to Nepal, and has previously served two tours in Afghanistan, including as Deputy Mission Director, as well as in El Salvador as Democracy and Governance Office Director.  She has also served several tours in Washington, including in HCTM; the Bureau of Policy, Planning, Learning, and Resource Management; and the Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance. 

Ms. Keyvanshad has extensive interagency experience, including Senior Advisor for Interstate Competition and Stabilization with a focus on Russia at the U.S. Institute of Peace, and Director for International Economic Affairs for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the National Security Council.  She has also served with multilateral and non-governmental organizations and has broad experience working with development and governmental institutions.

Ms. Keyvanshad holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and an M.S. in strategic studies from the National War College.  She speaks Farsi and Spanish.
