The Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS) is a five-year framework that guides the U.S. government’s (USG) support to developing countries seeking to reduce their food insecurity, malnutrition, and poverty while building resilience to recurrent crises. Authorized by the Global Food Security Act (GFSA) of 2016, the GFSS provides the framework for implementation of the USG’s Feed the Future (FTF) initiative, a whole-of-government effort led by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to reduce global poverty, hunger, and malnutrition sustainably.
