We are addressing the critical issue of corruption, which undermines trust in public institutions and weakens the culture of accountability. Our efforts focus on fostering transparency and promoting the responsibility of both government institutions and citizens to take meaningful actions in combating corruption. Together, we aim to build a more accountable and trustworthy society.

Partnership Against Corruption Activity

Corruption in North Macedonia persists, eroding citizens and investor trust in institutions, diminishing accountability and transparency, hindering economic growth, and contributing to political fragility and instability. Corruption prevails because authorities do not act to implement reforms or address corruption when it occurs, and institutions struggle with ineffective processes and insufficient resources.

Citizens Against Corruption

This activity will create a broad social movement of like-minded actors demanding zero tolerance of corruption. By fostering a culture of awareness, integrity, and accountability, citizens can individually and jointly exert pressure for improved government responsiveness and effectiveness in addressing corruption.

Strengthening Transparency and Accountability through Investigative Reporting

This activity will strengthen investigative journalism networks, invest in the next generation of reporters and editors, foster innovative tools and resources, improve newsroom management and financial viability, and advance holistic approaches to safety and security.

Roma Inclusion Activity

The aim of the Roma Inclusion Activity is to empower Roma community members and civil society organizations (CSOs) to take leadership roles in the development and implementation of national strategies and policies pertaining to Roma inclusion, and to hold government institutions accountable for addressing Roma issues and needs.

Strengthening Resource Mobilization Activity

The aim of this program is to increase municipalities’ own-source revenues and external funding and increase their budget execution rate in compliance with the central government’s budgeting and reporting requirements.
