Press Release

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) earned an “A” rating when the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently issued the federal government’s annual Small Business Procurement Scorecard for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022. SBA annually negotiates agency-specific U.S. small business prime contract and subcontract goals, which aim to ensure the U.S. Federal Government awards at least 23 percent of contracting dollars to U.S. small businesses.

USAID exceeded its prime contract dollar goal of 12.50 percent by awarding 16.33 percent to U.S. small businesses, which equates to approximately $998 million world-wide. This represents USAID’s largest ever achievement in our work with U.S. small businesses.  In addition, the Agency exceeded its annual prime contract dollar goals for Women-Owned Small Businesses and Small Disadvantaged Businesses.

The Agency has exceeded its annual prime small business goal for more than ten consecutive years.  This achievement highlights the Agency’s commitment to amplify outreach and increase prime and subcontract awards to U.S. small businesses that support our development agenda abroad and job creation to stimulate economic growth here at home.
