Press Release

The below is attributable to Spokesperson Rebecca Chalif:‎

Today, Administrator Power met with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and co-founder of the Malala Fund, Malala Yousafzai, to discuss USAID’s support to girls’ education globally. The Administrator and Ms. Yousafzai discussed opportunities for collaboration to advance our shared commitment to gender equity and equality, increase girls’ education, and support the invaluable leadership of girls around the world. They focused on the situation in Afghanistan and how global partners can help protect education access for women and girls to accelerate progress to let Afghan girls learn.

Building on USAID’s decades of experience in supporting girls’ education and women’s empowerment, Administrator Power underscored USAID’s commitment to support the extraordinary power of girls, so that all our daughters—and all our children, no matter how they identify—can fulfill their potential and share their talent with the world.
