The below is attributable to Spokesperson Jessica Jennings:

On December 5, Administrator Samantha Power met with Dr. Sohn Hyuk-Sang, President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Administrator Power and Dr. Sohn discussed the USAID-KOICA work plan for 2023–2025, which outlines a three-year plan to work together to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including increasing assistance to Ukraine in response to Russia’s brutal war, bolstering the Indo-Pacific’s resilience to climate change, and addressing global public health.

The Administrator also noted USAID and KOICA’s joint interest in supporting locally-led development and discussed ways to increase sustainability and local ownership of development efforts.
