Today, Deputy Administrator Coleman met with Bjørg Sandkjær, Norway’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The two discussed joint support for Ukraine against Russia’s unprovoked full-scale invasion, food security, climate change, and global health initiatives.
The Deputy Administrator expressed support for Norway’s efforts to combat fertilizer shortages and improve fertilizer-use efficiency in sub-Saharan Africa through its funding commitments made during the Global Fertilizer Challenge. This is a critical step toward combating the global food security crisis and meeting the nutritional needs of millions of people. These two initiatives present an opportunity to enable solutions at the intersection of food security and climate, as well as build greater public-private investment and cross-sectoral partnerships.
