The prevalence of malaria among children 6-59 months old was 19% in 2021, Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS 2021) (down from 52% in 2012) with geographical variations. Yet despite recent progress, malaria remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Mali, particularly among children under 5 years old. Pregnant women are also at increased risk. PMI Impact Malaria supports Mali’s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in its efforts to strengthen malaria service delivery.
