On March 13, 2023, the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, led by the USAID team working closely with other U.S. government colleagues, hosted an interactive event to celebrate Women's History Month and empower professional women in Kosovo. The event brought together 52 women from various fields, including parliament, government, law enforcement, media, civil society, and the private sector, fostering new cross-sectoral support networks that can leverage participants' collective talents, resources, and available opportunities.

The event was designed to help women identify formal and informal barriers to communication and networking, develop strategies to address those barriers, and create short-term and long-term plans to build supportive cross-sectoral networks. Activities included three facilitated sessions, including a networking tree, speed networking, and a brainstorming segment where guests identified core challenges to build networks and proposed solutions and next steps. This unique event provided a platform for women to connect and collaborate across various sectors.

As an advocate for women's empowerment, the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo and USAID are committed to supporting the continued growth and success of women in Kosovo, and look forward to hosting similar events in the future.
