On July 19, USAID announced a $1 million partnership with UNICEF to strengthen communication and outreach efforts for COVID-19 prevention and vaccination.  The two-year activity will promote key preventive practices for COVID-19 and encourage especially the most marginalized to seek vaccination.

A recent UNICEF study shows that Kosovo’s low vaccination rate is due in large part to the high prevalence of misinformation surrounding vaccines.  This activity will better inform Kosovo citizens about vaccines by crafting targeted messages to fight misinformation surrounding vaccination.  The activity is aligned with Kosovo’s National Deployment and Vaccination Plan, and ultimately assists in the uptake of COVID-19 vaccination in Kosovo and mitigating the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19.
