Tusameheane Tujenge Nchi promotes meaningful civic participation in county governance and decision-making processes in its target counties of Migori, Nairobi and Wajir. Tusameheane Tujenge Nchi is a Kiswahili phrase which translates to “We reconcile to build the country.” The program is based on a contextual understanding of the underlying issues affecting the governance structure of the devolved units in Kenya and works towards increasing inclusion for social and politically marginalized populations. The program combines dialogue, mediation and peacebuilding experience with tested dialogue and political participation methodologies, alongside partner organizations’ comprehensive understanding of local conflict dynamics and vast experience in local peacebuilding and governance work in Kenya.
