The USAID/Pakistan Flagship TB activity will provide technical assistance to Pakistan’s TB Program to increase universal access to TB prevention, diagnosis and treatment, improve programmatic management of Multidrug-Resistant TB, strengthen diagnostic capacity, engage local civil society organizations to strengthen service delivery and social support services, and enhance the national and provincial TB program functionality and sustainability.
This is a five year activity (2024-2029) with an estimated TEC amount of $50 million. The activity will be at the national level, with provincial & district level interventions in Sindh and Punjab, with potential flexibility to expand activities to other provinces.

The goal of the Global Health Security (GHS) Activity is to build Pakistan’s capacities to prevent, detect and rapidly respond to new and emerging infectious diseases. The GHS activity will strengthen existing Pakistan’s One Health systems, entities, structures, all towards building a resilient, sustainable response to emerging infectious disease threats. In line with USAID’s vision for Health System Strengthening 2030, the activity will work on strengthening existing health systems that uphold equity, optimize resources and efficiency and ensure quality.

To promote participatory governance, stability, and climate resilient development in Pakistan.

To support family-based care and family reintegration by providing immediate child protection and care support, filling existing service gaps to prevent unnecessary family separation, and to support the transition away from residential care. This is a 5-year project with the total estimated amount of $7,000,000.

The Activity will be aimed at diversifying the Turkmenistan's economy, enhancing trade opportunities, and improving the investment climate to foster sustainable, resilient, and inclusive economic growth. This program will focus on identifying and addressing key barriers to economic development, such as poor infrastructure, bureaucratic border crossings, and opaque business practices and regulation.

The purpose of the activity is to prevent, detect, and respond to outbreaks in the Eastern & Southern Caribbean. USAID/ESC will work with partner countries in the following global health security areas: surveillance, zoonotic diseases, and risk communication and community engagement.

Potential Benefitting Countries: Suriname and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

STRATEGIC GOAL

Strengthen the capacity of ESC countries to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats, enhancing regional health security and resilience in alignment with the International Health Regulations (IHR)(2005) State Parties Self-Assessment Annual Report (SPAR) and Joint External Evaluation (JEE) scores, indicators and capacities using a ‘One Health’ approach.

Objective 1: Strengthen Zoonotic Disease Management

GHS focused countries will have robust, multisectoral coordination mechanisms and national strategies in place for zoonotic disease management, leading to improved early detection and efficient response to zoonotic disease threats.

Objective 2: Enhanced Surveillance Systems

Improved early warning systems will detect public health threats, and improve communication and collaboration between all public health response levels of authority. The enhanced capacity to analyze epidemiological, clinical, laboratory, environmental, product safety and quality, and bioinformatics data will meet the core capacity requirements of the IHR.

Objective 3: Improve Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE)

ESC countries will rely on multilevel, multisectoral and multifaceted RCCE capacities during public health emergencies. Real-time exchange of information from a range of sources during an emergency will inform critical decisions. Communication and engagement strategies are not limited to social media, traditional media, mass awareness campaigns, health promotion, social mobilization and infodemic management.

The GHS program will build on all other ESC indirect and core health investments in the region such as COVID-19, Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Preparedness and Response, Urban Resilience, Youth, Climate Change and Crime and Violence.

The task order is to obtain new and/or updated Staple food market fundamentals reports and new and/or updated Livelihood zone baseline profiles and related deliverables for thirty countries.
