Being a leader is indeed a talent, but even natural leaders need training. Effective community leadership demands a certain set of skills. The USAID-supported Community Leadership Academy, is playing a pivotal role in honing these skills among community activists, particularly youth, empowering them to instigate positive transformations within their localities.

"I never thought that the youth could be catalysts for change in their community," says Eris Hasanaj, a recent graduate of the first edition of the 12-week Community Leadership Academy in Prishtina. The program, structured across 24 modules, not only imparts advocacy skills but also underscores the importance of networking with diverse stakeholders.

Melisa Ramadani, reflecting on her experience: "The Academy has reshaped my thinking. Initially, we must identify the issues facing our community, strategize on how to address them, and effectively advocate for change."

The Community Leadership Academy is an integral component of the Citizen Engagement Activity—a comprehensive, five-year collaborative initiative spearheaded by KCSF in partnership with USAID. This initiative is committed to nurturing leaders who not only possess innate talent but are equipped with the skills required to usher in positive and enduring change within their communities.
