About West Bank and Gaza
The U.S. Government is dedicated to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians. We provide assistance based on a two-track approach: first, resumed political negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians to reach a two-state solution, and second, support for Palestinian institution-building, to govern transparently and provide critical services.
The United States, through USAID, is the leading provider of bilateral development assistance to the Palestinians, supporting programs in the areas of democracy and governance; education; health and humanitarian assistance; private enterprise; and water resources and infrastructure.
USAID’s West Bank and Gaza Mission is helping to address immediate, critical humanitarian and emergency response needs in Gaza through the provision of food, non-food items, shelter materials, and medical supplies. The U.S. Government has committed approximately $47 million to help address the current humanitarian situation in Gaza. As the security situation permits, USAID will provide additional assistance.
