The United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) funds USAID to implement the USAID District Coverage of Health Services project to scale up integrated HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs closer to where people live and work. The goal is to achieve HIV epidemic control in Zambia.

The USAID District Coverage of Health Services (DISCOVER-Health) project partners with the Zambia Ministry of Health to implement HIV prevention and treatment, support family planning, and maternal and child health programs. The project provides quality health services in 173 clinics and community outreach sites in Copperbelt and Central provinces. In 2022, the USAID District Coverage of Health Services project launched a new initiative Health Hub: Men on the Move, which uses mobile technology to bring integrated health services closer to truck drivers and other men, closing a key service delivery coverage gap. The project was also a key partner helping to accelerate the national rollout and scale-up of COVID-19 vaccination - today, more than 83 percent of eligible Zambians are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
