A 2020 graduate of the East Africa RLC received a 2023 TIME100 Impact Award for her work as an environmentalist and climate activist. Elizabeth Wathuti, 28, is a Kenyan environment and climate activist as well as the founder of the Green Generation Initiative. Her organization runs programs focused on tree growing to help communities implement nature-based solutions to confront the climate crisis, while simultaneously addressing food security and nurturing environmentally conscious and nature-loving youth.
