DANANG, January 26, 2024 – Today, the United States Mission to Vietnam announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Danang city and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to enhance development cooperation. The Chairman of the People’s Committee of Danang City, Le Trung Chinh, and the USAID Mission Director for Vietnam, Aler Grubbs, signed the MOU today on the sidelines of the Meet Danang 2024 event.

The United States Mission to Vietnam and Danang currently partner on a number of shared development priorities, including clean energy, pollution reduction, higher education, and assisting people with disabilities. Under the MOU signed today, USAID/Vietnam and Danang city intend to expand their development cooperation to promote innovative solutions in economic growth; clean energy and energy efficiency, environmental protection and climate change response; health; and human resource development.

This MOU will contribute to Danang’s own goals for human resource development and green economic growth, and represents further cooperation of the United States in assisting Vietnam to achieve its future sustainable development goals in line with the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, announced in September 2023.
