Happy Earth Day 2024! This year USAID is focused on plastic pollution. Plastic pollution is a huge problem and we see it everywhere. USAID is working in Vietnam on a couple different ways to reduce that, mobile apps that can link informal waste collectors with plastic buyers, so it is income generation and reduces the plastic. And then we’re working with health care facilities to reduce and recycle medical waste. Each of us in our own ways can do something. Use a refillable water bottle. Take our own bags to the grocery store. All of us are in this together, so it’s the planet versus the plastic. On that note have a happy Earth Day 2024.
