About West Bank and Gaza

The U.S. Government is dedicated to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on a two-track approach:  first, resumed political negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians to reach a two-state solution, and second, support for Palestinian institution-building, to govern transparently and provide critical services to its people. U.S. foreign assistance to the West Bank and Gaza helps to build a more democratic, stable and secure region, benefiting Palestinians, Israelis and Americans.

The United States, through USAID, is the leading provider of bilateral development assistance to the Palestinians, supporting programs in the areas of democracy and governance; education; health and humanitarian assistance; private enterprise; and water resources and infrastructure.
