Companies that transform is an initiative which promotes shared value approach to strengthen the profitability of companies and support the well being of communities.

In Peru, more than 40% of children from 6 months to 9 years old suffer from anemia. To address this problem, at Pesquera Diamante we opened fishing collection centers where before there was no regular access to seafood. We do screening tests for anemia. Free of charge, we provide affected children with one fish a week.

We monitor their diets, and provide nutrition education to parents. We sell approximately 200 tons per year to low-income populations, at prices below market prices. We also contribute with community kitchens and other allies. We take fish to remote places. Our initiative is led by more than 50 promoters who we managed to consolidate as leaders of their communities. We motivate and reward them.

USAID, IPAE, RPP AND AFMDP RECOGNIZE TAMBOS PESQUEROS DIAMANTE

AS ONE OF THE "COMPANIES THAT TRANSFORM"

BECAUSE IT IMPROVES THE HEALTH OF FAMILIES WITH HIGH LEVELS OF ANEMIA

By bringing food to areas in need, we promote the consumption of fish, and we contribute to the health and future of our country, supporting the physical and cognitive development of children, improving academic and work performance, and we try to break the cycles of poverty.
