The Embassy of the United States of America in Paraguay’s Public Diplomacy (PD) section is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Request for Proposals (RFP). PD invites not-for profit/non-governmental organizations in Paraguay to submit proposals for educating and encouraging local audiences and organizations to become active in issues regarding global and local environmental challenges via a regional environmental and conservation conference that would bring together key decision makers to discuss the management of natural resources within the framework of economic development and growth. Public Diplomacy Asuncion will have approximately up to $50,000 per award.

Sections 118 and 119 of the Foreign Assistance Act require that each USAID Country Development Strategy include an analysis of the actions necessary in that country to achieve conservation and sustainable management of biological diversity and tropical forests and of the extent to which the actions proposed for support by USAID meet these needs. This report provides USAID/Paraguay with this analysis.
In April 2009, a four-person team conducted a democracy and governance assessment in Paraguay as a preliminary step in the development of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Paraguay’s new Democracy Sector Strategic Plan. The purpose of the assessment was to identify basic issues and challenges in Paraguay’s democratic development and to make strategic recommendations for USAID’s consideration.

The Integrating Very Poor Producers into Value Chains Field Guide is intended to provide the field-level practitioner with tools and applications to reach very poor households. The intended outcome of the Field Guide is to have greater market engagement for very poor households through enterprise development activities.
