Today, Administrator Power spoke with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) Martin Griffiths and UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC) for the Palestinian Territories Lynn Hastings to discuss the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Administrator Power emphasized strong U.S. support for sustained and unhindered humanitarian access, and for the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law. ERC Griffiths and RC/HC Hastings shared updates on the most pressing humanitarian needs and ongoing coordination to significantly scale up the amount of aid entering Gaza. Administrator Power reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to support those impacted by the ongoing conflict.
