Today, the White House released the annual report describing the U.S. Government’s efforts to implement the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) in Fiscal Year 2020. The U.S. Government’s involvement in the GHSA has had a direct impact on the COVID-19 response in partner countries, while improving countries’ capabilities to prevent, detect, and respond to future infectious disease threats and outbreaks. USAID has been a lead implementer of the U.S. contribution to the GHSA multilateral initiative since its launch in 2014 and continues to support the even more ambitious GHSA 2024 target. USAID's investments in this critical partnership continue to play a vital role in improving pandemic preparedness and building back better to prevent the next. These investments save lives and make us safer.
