Trip Advisory

From October 4-6, 2023, Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman will travel to Mexico to attend the third U.S.-Mexico High-Level Security Dialogue alongside Secretary of State Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas, U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, White House Homeland Security Advisor Dr. Liz Sherwood-Randall, and other senior U.S. government officials.

The U.S. delegation will join Mexican government counterparts for a bilateral dialogue on joint implementation of the U.S.-Mexico Bicentennial Framework for Security, Public Health, and Safe Communities. Adopted in 2021, the framework established a comprehensive, long-term approach for binational safety and security to include public health, vulnerable populations, human rights, rule of law, and violence prevention.

While in Mexico, the Deputy Administrator will engage with local USAID staff and meet with civil society leaders to discuss human rights and security, as well as visit a youth center to observe USAID’s work supporting reintegration of youth in conflict with the law.
