Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power met virtually with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs for the United Kingdom, Dominic Raab to discuss shared priorities, including sustained support for staff and partners in Afghanistan, as well as the urgent need for concerted diplomatic pressure and innovative humanitarian solutions in the face of the humanitarian crisis in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Administrator Power and Foreign Secretary Raab also spoke about their shared commitment to global education, including their participation at the upcoming Global Education Summit; the opportunity to work together on climate finance ahead of the the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties; and how to build on the commitments made on global infrastructure at the G7 Leaders’ Summit.
