Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with Dr. Rajiv Shah, President of the Rockefeller Foundation and former USAID Administrator. They discussed progress on the Democracy Delivers initiative that Administrator Power and Secretary of State Antony Blinken launched at the 2022 United Nations (UN) General Assembly, and explored further opportunities to partner to advance development gains and public integrity in countries experiencing democratic openings – including at the upcoming UN General Assembly in September 2023.
Administrator Power and Dr. Shah also discussed other shared priorities, including food security and how USAID and philanthropies such as Rockefeller can reinforce each others’ efforts to achieve more impactful and visible development outcomes. The Rockefeller Foundation is one of USAID’s key partners.
