Today, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Principal Advisor to the Administrator Mark Feierstein met with World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe Dr. Hans Kluge to discuss USAID’s partnership with WHO in Europe and Eurasia.
Feierstein reiterated that the WHO is one of USAID’s most important health and humanitarian partners, thanked the WHO for its collaboration in the international response to COVID-19, and stressed the importance of continued coordination on the pandemic response in Europe. Feierstein and Dr. Kluge also discussed the WHO’s critical role in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), the Special Session of the World Health Assembly in November 2021, and collaboration on combatting disinformation.
