Press Release

On behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), I extend empathy and compassion to everyone observing Yom HaShoah — Holocaust Remembrance Day — in the United States, Israel, and around the world.

Yom HaShoah serves as a reminder of the six million Jewish, and millions of other lives lost during the Holocaust, as well as the urgent need to end discrimination and persecution against people due to their religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, sexual identities, and abilities. USAID is committed to this work, on behalf of the American people, to respond to human rights violations and abuses, promote interfaith relations, preserve cultures, and protect religious freedom for all people to prevent future genocides and atrocities like the Holocaust.

USAID is proud to partner with Jewish communities and leaders as well as other civil society and faith-based organizations to advance religious freedom efforts and to uphold and foster human dignity for all.
