On behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), I send warm wishes to Muslims celebrating the holy month of Ramadan around the world.
During this time of reflection, prayer, and commitment to community, the observance of Ramadan is a wonderful reminder of the importance of generosity, compassion, and dignity for all people. For decades, USAID’s work has demonstrated these core values — from encouraging rural women in Tunisia to vote to providing safe drinking water and sanitation services for millions of people worldwide — our programs aim to build a world free from discrimination against marginalized communities and help lift up those most in need.
To all of USAID’s Muslim employees and implementing partner staff, I extend sincere gratitude for all you do, and wish you and your families a blessed month ahead.
