The potential for Kosovo companies to produce high-quality goods and services for export is endless. However, the volume of imports coming into Kosovo far outweigh exports of Kosovo-made products. Why? Companies do not have sufficient knowledge of or access to potential export markets. A Kosovo-based consultancy, Management Development Associates (MDA), might have the solution.
For the past several years, MDA has gathered export and market information from various countries and companies to develop an online export platform tailored to Kosovo’s private sector. Coupled with management consulting and capacity-building services, the platform provides companies with vital information on export markets and opportunities. MDA developed this platform with USAID support.
Recently, MDA signed a contract with the Kosovo-German Chamber of Commerce (KGCC) to provide export support to its members and offer them the opportunity to receive market intelligence packages, export readiness evaluation, expert advice on market selection, export strategy formulation, market entry planning, and export division subcontracting.
USAID’s work with MDA is one part of a comprehensive approach to helping foster the growth and competitiveness of Kosovo’s growing private sector through the Kosovo Compete Activity. Together, these efforts will translate into more Kosovo companies entering new markets, building their brands, attracting investment, and creating new jobs and opportunities for Kosovo’s citizens.
