Laureta Burrniku, a young woman from Kacanik, Kosovo, has defied the odds of many youth from outside the capital, Pristina, who often struggle to find professional opportunities due to the lack of training and networking opportunities. Through her participation in the USAID Up to Youth program, Laureta gained critical skills and knowledge needed for today's job market, which helped her secure a full-time job in Pristina.

At just twenty-one years old, Laureta credits her success to the USAID-supported training and internship program, which equipped her with essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. These skills enabled her to identify her professional goals and pursue them with confidence.

During her three-month internship with Jungle, a professional training and services outsourcing company in Pristina, Laureta was able to apply her newfound skills, and her commitment paid off when the company offered her a full-time job. For Laureta, this opportunity was a dream come true, providing her with her first professional experience in the labor market.

Laureta is one of sixty youth from nine municipalities in Kosovo who have completed an internship with a local business arranged by USAID Up to Youth. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of skills-based training and the potential for young people from underserved communities to succeed with the right support.
